Musical performances are an important part of the Hispanic Heritage month celebration.

Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15-Oct. 15, celebrates the histories, cultures and contributions of the Chicana/o, Latina/o and Hispanic individuals and groups who identify with and strive to create a more inclusive environment for these communities.
At ASU's West campus, activities include the ¡Salsa-Salsa Fiesta! signature event and other events such as performances, lectures and other opportunities to share community values and cultural experiences.

Come join us at Food Truck Tuesday for a cultural talent show that showcases the talents of ASU students through various art forms to find one performer to kick off the ¡Salsa-Salsa Fiesta! 5-7 pm, Verde Dining Pavilion
Make salsa with provided ingredients, acquire new recipes with ingredient preferences among different regions, and learn how to salsa dance. Awesome door prizes given to salsa competitors and dancers! Prize package also awarded for the best salsa! Enjoy free chips, salsa, ice cream and beverages. A variety of Latin cuisine is available at the dining hall.
This Hispanic Heritage Month signature event at ASU's West campus is free and open to students, faculty/staff and the public.
Parking is available in the North Zone (lots 10, 11 and 12) for $3 per hour.

Join us for an intimate discussion and Q&A with ASU Guest Residency Artist, Martha Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter, "Artivista," PhD professor at Scripps College in music and feminism as well as a community organizer.
